Chinese kidnapped victim rescued by the joint government troops

ZAMBOANGA CITY - A Chinese kidnapped victim from Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay identified as Lin Yuankai alias Jampong Lin, 38 was rescued by the joint government troops led by the 5th Special Action Battalion, Special Action Force, Navy SWAG, Regional-9 Public Safety Battalion and other military units after the encounter between the groups of Abu-Sayyaf Sub-leader Khair Mundos and Ajijul Temeng.

The firefight started at about 10:00 o’clock this morning September 10, 2012 that lasted for 15 minutes in Sitio Dulian, Barangay Calabasa, some 50 kilometers east coast from Zamboanga City.                                   

At least 3 were killed from the enemy side while no casualty from the government side. The identity of the casualties was not yet known.
The presence of Abu-Sayyaf group was positively monitored by the intelligence operatives following the surveillance operations that made them decide  to launch offensive military operations .The recovery of the Jampong is unexpected, said Police Director General Manuel Barcena, Chief Directorate Integrated Police Operation (DIPO) in Western Mindanao.

Jampong Lin was kidnapped in Barangay F.L Peña, Kabasalan at about 8 p.m. on June 4 together with Jian Luo alias James Luo, 43, executive of a mining company and a native of Guandong, China, who was first released and dropped in Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City around 1:30 a.m on August 27, 2012. His release was made after allegedly payment of P5 million ransom at the parking lot of Garden Orchid hotel along Gov. Camins Avenue. James Luo left for China few weeks after his release

Jampong is now in the custody of the PNP Regional Command in Camp Col. Romeo Abendan in Mercedez, Zamboanga City for medical treatment and debriefing. He is scheduled to be presented to the media for press conference tomorrow morning September 21, 2012.
