ARMM Social Fund not affected on Bansangmoro signing

COTABATO CITY – The ARMM Social Fund Project (ASFP) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will not be affected on the ongoing signing between the government and the bansangmoro people (MILF panel) today, Manager Abba R. Kuaman told the reporters during their quarterly press conference. “Our agency is still intact and continued pursuing the responsibilities for development that even the politicians cannot hamper the implementation of our projects because ASFP is for Peace and Development,” he added.


The ASFP overall progress as of October is already at 73.46%, including the IBRD-AF (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) had 61.84% while JICA  has a 98.56%  on their implementation and other co-agencies also reaching their own target rates.

The 98.56% accomplishment of JICA includes the 30 constructed and rehabilitated strategic regional facilities further strengthen ARMM’s capabilities by delivering service to its people.

The 650 completed sub-projects in different provinces of the Autonomous Region in 326 barangays are directly benefited 612,710 recipients. It has also 26 ongoing out of 60 sub-projects in 32 additional barangays of the region.

Kuaman said, The ASFP accomplishment of multi-million infrastructure projects has a total of 33 projects including the ongoing construction of Sulu PSWLSD Center and the concreting of Ditsaan Ramain Buadipuso Buntong Road in Lanao del Sur while the Community Development Assistance also has a total of 650 projects accomplished which includes the ongoing construction of concrete footbridge in Banday, Malabang, Lanao del Sur.

The ASFP also procured hospital equipments in different hospitals in the regions like Dr. Serapio Montaner Hospital in Lanao del Sur, Tamparan District hospital also in Lanao Sur, DAF-ARMM Training Center, Datu Halun Provincial Hospitalm, Unayan District Hospital, Mother and Child Pavilion.

During the conference, Mr Tito Lumampas of Kiga Falls Producers Cooperative expressed his reactions on ASFP projects in his area in Kiga, North Upi, Maguindanao.

Lumampas said that the project of the ARMM has a big help in his community because of its immediate response to their problems regarding the lack of school buildings in his barangay.

Immediately upon their request the ASFP give 2 rooms of school building in the amount of more or less P1.2 million pesos which benefited more or less 300 elementary students in Barangay Kiga as of press time.
