DENR-9 DISTRIBUTES NEW MOTORCYCLE UNITS WORTH P2.683M

PAGADIAN CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region IX headed by Regional Executive Director (RED) Arleigh J. Adorable has ended the year 2012 with the blessing and turn-over ceremony of motorcycle units of Honda XRM-125 worth P2.683M which were acquired through the Forest Management Services (FMS) to intensify their forest protection activities and boost the implementation of the National Greening Program (NGP).

Together with Regional Technical Director (RTD) Ali M. Bari of the Forest Management Services (FMS) and Administrative Division Chief  Benjamin A. Rubia, RED Adorable led the distributions of some 41 units of Honda XRM-125 to the different heads of DENR field offices who personally received the service vehicles with the following distribution: 

·         One unit for each Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of  Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga City.
·         Three units  for  each Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of  Zamboanga City –East, Zamboanga City-West, Ipil, Buug, Siocon, Liloy, Dapitan City, Dipolog City, Guipos,  and  Pagadian City.

·         Other recipients were FMS:
o   3 units, Office of the Regional Executive Director (ORED)
o   2 units and one unit each for Protected Areas Wildlife and Coastal Zone Management Services (PAWCZMS) and Ecosystems Research and Development Service (ERDS).

On the same occasion, LMS-IX also turned over 3 Yamaha YBR motorcycles to CENROs Dipolog City and Dapitan City and another one for PENRO ZDS.

“The motorcycles were acquired using FMS Fund to be used to enhance capability in monitoring various  forest protection  activities and to achieve performance targets and other support activities of the National Greening Program (NGP),” Director Adorable said during the simple ceremony held recently at the ORED’s Quadrangle.

Reverend Father Paul Cabante officiated the blessing of the newly-acquired vehicles as well as the existing vehicles in the region and the rented three-storey building which houses the ORED and its Support to Operations (STO) Office.
