City launches Hataw Pagadian, to train own instructors

By KIT KAIMO

PAGADIAN CITY - Young and olds, students, professionals and health-conscious Pagadianons poured sweat as the Hataw Pagadian was launched last July 13 at about 5:30AM at the City Plaza, this city.

In a press statement by the Pagadian City Press Bureau, the Hataw Pagadian held last weekend was a dance exercise led by two Cebu-based gym instructors and one Pagadianon.

The Hataw will be held every weekend which would start at around 5:30-7:30AM.

Among the leaders-participants of said exercise were Congressman Victor Yu, Mayor Romeo Pulmones, Vice Mayor Divina Grace Yu, and some of the city councilors.

Mayor Pulmones, in a media interview, said that the program was being led by Vice Mayor Yu. At the moment, he added, employees of the City Hall are not yet required to join the launching, but in the near future, it would be essential that employees join the activity.

He further said that the program was formerly implemented at the time of then Mayor Joaquin Pajares and now is being revived by Vice Mayor Yu.

The Mayor also announced that the exercise program is open for free to the public.

Vice Mayor Yu, on the other hand, explained that there is a need for the city government to train Pagadian-based instructors who will hold the Hataw.

The talent fee for the Cebu-based instructors is higher, that is why we have to train instructors based here in Pagadian City, she said.
