Tabak soldiers join in the observance of Ramadan

PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOSUR - More than a thousand soldiers both Officer and Enlisted Personnel of the Army’s Premier Infantry (Tabak) Division are expected to join in the observance of the month long Ramadam that start today July 9, 2013.

Major Adzramien T Sahisa CHS (PA), the Command Imam (Islamic Priest) will lead the month long fasting and devotion as part of the Ramadan celebration at the 1ID mosque.

“The Command joins you as you observe your Holy Month. May this month of Ramadan cleanse your heart and your soul as you renew your faith to our Divine God (Allah). May you include in your prayers and devotion the realization of peace in Mindanao and the whole country for the people, our brothers and sisters, and for our families. May Allah bless us all.” Says BGen Felicito Virgilio M Trinidad Jr, Acting Commander of 1st Infantry Division based in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, in his message.

The Command has around a thousand soldiers who will observe the traditional fasting and they belong mostly to the four major tribes in Mindanao ; the Tausug, Yakan, Maranao and Maguindanaoans coming from the provinces of Sulu, Taw-tawi, Basilan and Lanao Provinces. (With reports from DPAO)
