Basileño tops six-month Candidate Soldier Course Class 318-2013

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Dec. 16 (PNA) - Candidate Soldier Rodel I. Babao of Isabela City, Basilan, has graduated as topnotcher of the six-month Candidate Soldier Course Class 318-2013 (CSCC-318-2013) as he bested the other 137 members of the class.

The training course, cross trained with Jungle Warfare Mountaineering Operation Course (JWMOC), started last June 15 and ended Sunday, December 15.

The training was held by the Army's First Division Training School of the First Infantry "Tabak" Division based in Pulacan, Labangan town, this province.

Babao was followed by Candidate soldiers Richard R. Aninion and Nover B. Rillera, both from Molave town this province as second and third in class standing, respectively.

First Infantry Division Public Affairs Officer Capt. Jefferson Somera said the CSCC-318-2013 has an original regular quota of 144 candidate soldiers but only 138 survived the rigors of the military training and discipline.

Somera said of the 138, 42 are college graduates, 62 college levels, 28 have vocational courses and 25 high school graduates but they proved to be deserving candidates possessing the skills required to qualify for enlistment.

Tabak Commander BGen Felicito Virgilio M Trinidad Jr., in his keynote speech congratulated the new members of Team Tabak by saying: You are the new breed of the Philippine Army under the Army Transformation Road Map. We are expecting from you as your parents and relatives do, to perform your duty to the best of your ability. You are now a soldier of the people, serve them well.
