Fire razed 35 houses affects 38 families received assistance from LGU in Molave Zamboanga del Sur

PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOSUR (SOLAR NEWS December 9, 2013) – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur extended relief goods and cash assistance to at least 38 families affected by fire that razed 35 houses yesterday at 2:00 o’clock dawn in Brgy. Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

Early morning yesterday the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) conducted a breakfast feeding to the fire victims followed by the distribution of relief assistance by the LGU.

MDRRMC Municipal Coordinator Gerry Delos Santos said, each family received 25 kilos of rice, noodles and can goods with cash assistance in the amount of 1,000 pesos per family.      

 
The fire victims were given temporary shelter in tents constructed by the LGU at the vacant lot near the area of the fire incident while preparing the construction of their houses.

Bureau of Fire Protection investigation disclosed that the fire lasted for 3 hours and the damage razed by fire estimated to more than 3 million pesos. The cause of fire is coming from the series electrical Christmas wiring connections.
