Zambo Norte to buy new equipment to boost infra projects implementation

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, March 4 (PNA) -– The provincial government of Zamboanga del Norte is set to purchase 25 new heavy equipment worth P61.3 million to boost the implementation of infrastructure projects in the province.


Zamboanga del Norte Vice Governor Senen Angeles said the funds that will be used to purchase the heavy equipment came from the P91.3 million appropriations under the 2014 General Supplemental Budget No. 1 of the province government.

Angeles said the allocation of the P61.3 million for the purchase of the heavy equipment was recently approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Angeles said the heavy equipment will include in the following: bulldozers, 3; six-wheeler dump truck; 5; backhoe, 3; telescopic crane, 1; road rollers, 4; loader truck, 1; tanker, 1; grader, 4; and, payloader, 3.

He said the equipment will be distributed to the three engineering districts of Zamboanga del Norte to fast track the implementation of infrastructure projects of the provincial government.

He said there is also a need to purchased new heavy equipment to replace the existing machinery of the provincial government, which are already old and some are dilapidated. (PNA)
