Zambo Sur police denies reported release of abducted vice-mayor in Pagadian City


PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, March 6 (PNA) -– The police have denied that the abducted vice-mayor of Hadji Muhtammad, Basilan was freed in this city.

Provincial police director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said Thursday that he ordered his personnel to check the veracity of the report “but it turn out negative.”

Ecaldre issued the statement after it was reported that Vice-Mayor Arsina Nanoh of Hadji Muhtammad, Basilan was released in this city.

“Early this morning I was surprised after series of phone calls of reporters from different outfit asking me about developments in the released of kidnapped victim in Pagadiqan City,” Ecaldre said.

However, Ecaldre said they are continuously monitoring the veracity of the report.
