Army troops assist police in manhunt of prosecutor’s killers in Marawi City

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, May 20 (PNA) – Military forces have augmented the police in tracking down the suspects behind Monday’s ambush slay of a prosecutor in Marawi city.

 
Army’s 1st Infantry Brigade Public Affairs officer-in-charge Captain Franco Suelto said that the 103rd Infantry Brigade has provided augmentation forces as the police continue its manhunt operation against the suspects.

The 103rd Infantry Brigade headed by Col. Glenn Macasero is based in Marawi City.
However, both the police and military authorities based in Marawi City did not release any identities of the suspects as the manhunt operations continue.

Assistant City Prosecutor Zaipal Alawi, Sr., 64, was killed in an ambush around 11:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Sarimanok in Barangay Marawi, Marawi City.

His driver, Saiben Baiza, 46, was wounded.

The victims were aboard a car on their way home when ambushed by two gunmen. (PNA)
