Police and military assures peace and security on Bangsamoro rally tomorrow

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines (May 3, MPF-NEWS) – The police and military is set to establish security measures and assured peace and security during the peace rally to be conducted by the members of Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS), Mindanao alliance for Peace (MAP) and the Moro-community tomorrow at Plaza Luz in Pagadian City, Provincial Police Official said.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said that police force of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) together with the operatives of the army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion will be providing security measures to established peace and order during the peace rally Sunday morning until afternoon.

Ecaldre said, Pagadian City police was tasked take-care within the city proper and at the vicinity of City Plaza Luz where the rally to be conducted while the army together with the PPSC will be in charge in the conduct of random check point along the national highway to monitor loose firearms.

“I have also instructed all the Municipal Police Station Chief to monitor in their respective area in coordination with the military,” the Provincial Director said.

Ecaldre said that the peace Rally will be simultaneous nation-wide in supports on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) to be submitted soon in congress.

“We are expecting big crowed tomorrow because the participants are coming from four provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, some areas from Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur that will convene tomorrow at the City Plaza Luz in Pagadian City.” Ecaldre said.

“As long as they will not bring firearms and follow orders and maintain peace during the conduct of their rally everything is ok because the presence police and military tomorrow is also the same with their purpose for the establishment peace during the activities,” Ecaldre explained.
