Army’s 1st Infantry Division Public Affairs Officer-in-Charge Capt. Franco Suelto identified the victims who were 14 days in captivity as Eng’r. Francisco Enot, his wife, Loida, and their driver, Danilo Bariga.

Suelto said the victims were freed around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the boundaries of Madalum and Bacolod-Kalawi towns in Lanao del Sur.

Suelto said the victims were fetched by Hadja Johairah Macabuat, a businesswoman, to the headquarters of the Army’s 51st Infantry Battalion in Barangay Poblacion, Balindong in the same province.

Suelto said the victims were subsequently brought to the provincial capitol complex in Barangay Datu Saber, Marawi City for medical check-up.

He said they were reunited with their families at the guest house of the provincial capitol.

The victims were seized by five unidentified gunmen around 5 p.m. last August 15 in Barangay Paraaba, Ganasi, Lanao del Sur.
