Pagadian City police ready for ‘Undas’

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Oct. 30 (PNA) -- The local police has readied security measures to ensure the safety of the residents during the observance of the All Saints and All Souls Days in this city.

Local police chief Supt. Glenn Dulawan said Thursday that firearms, liquor, gambling as well as sound system are strictly off-limit in cemeteries to ensure the solemn observance of “Undas.”

Dulawan said policemen will be detailed in all the cemeteries while mobile patrols will be conducted in the different parts of this city.

Dulawan asked the cooperation and understanding of the public, citing there will be strict inspection before they will be allowed to enter into the cemeteries.

He said children below eight years old will be provided with an identification tag indicating the child complete name contact numbers of the parents to ensure prompt return should the child lost his or her way.

He said that there will be designated parking areas in every cemeteries while traffic rules will be strictly implemented to prevent accidents.

Meanwhile, Dulawan utilized the social media network as part of the local police’ intensified information dissemination reminding the public to take precautionary measures during Undas. (PNA)
