Police files criminal charges against MRTI bus driver

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct. 17, 2014-MPF News) --- The City Police had filed a criminal charges against the  bus driver of Mindanao Rural Transit Incorporated (MRTI) in the Inquest Case filed to the City Prosecutor’s Office Thursday morning.

City Chief of Police Supt. Glenn Dulawan said Reckless Imprudence resulting to Homicide and Serious Physical Injuries was filed against the driver after he accidentally bumped and overrun the two Grade 2 pupils Wednesday at 11:45AM along the national highway in front of Camp Abelon Elementary School, Brgy. Lumbia, this City.

Dulawan identified the driver as Ariel C. Lador, 46, residents of Ramos Street, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

In the initial investigation Dulawan disclosed that the MRTI bus with body number 9162 enters the city proper passing at said place was able to bump the two victims while crossing at the pedestrian lane.


Dulawan identified the victims as Daryl Ferioterio 7, female, was dead on the spot after overrun by the bus while Albert Prince Fiel 7 was bumped at his head and was seriously confined at the Pagadian City Medical Center but died few days after.

The driver is now temporary detained at the City Police lock-up cell while the Bus was impounded at the City Police Station.
