Abductors release Chinese kidnap victim in Alicia. Zamboanga Sibugay

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 6, 2014-MPN News) – The abductors suspected to be members of Kidnap for Ransom (KFR) Group had released their kidnap victim Chinese National Wednesday at 3:00 in the morning at Sitio Lugay, Barangay Naga, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay, Police and Military Official said.

The kidnap victim identified as Peiji Li who has been held captive for almost two months after he was abducted at his establishment on September 11, 2014 at around 6:45 in the evening in Brgy. Poblacion Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Although immediate hot pursuit operation was launched by the joint elements of police forces from Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office and the Armed Forces of the Philippines still the government forces failed to rescue the victim, since his kidnappers were able to slip him to Island Province of Basilan, where he was held captive for one month and twenty six days.    

Police Region-9 Acting Information Officer Police Inspector Dahlan Tidal Samudin said the victim is now under the custody of Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Director Police Senior Superintendent Roy Bahian and to

the Provincial Intelligence Branch of Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office where he undergoes investigation and debriefing.

Thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the identities of the suspects who abducted the victim, for filing of appropriate charges in court.             

The initial investigation disclosed that prior to the recovery of the victim, he and his two abductors allegedly left Basilan Province at around 5:00 in the afternoon of November 4, 2014 boarded on a motorized pump boat and bound for Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay. They   arrived at the said municipality at around 11:00 in the evening of same date. The victim was supposed to be fetched by his manager while in the area. Thereby, upon their arrival, the abductors pointed the direction where his manager was waiting for him.

The victim proceeded towards the direction where his manager was waiting, he met a woman, whom he sought assistance.  Upon sensing that the man was a foreigner with moist clothes and chilled, the woman instead brought her to the residence of PO1 Jimnazur Laja, PNP member of Alicia Municipal Police Station and hastily reported to his superior officer regarding the matter.

Victim was immediately brought to Alicia Municipal Police Station where he was met by the close family friends thereat and was later brought to the headquarters of Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office.
