The Cities of Pagadian and Dapitan next target of “Pulso ng Bayan”

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 17, 2014-MPF News) --- Another two cities of Pagadian and Daqpitan in Region 9 are set to undergo the Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) Utilization conference Wednesday December 17 at Travelbee in Dapitan City and December 22 at Executive Function Hall in Pagadian City respectively, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region-9 Official said. 

DILG Region-9 Designate Information Officer Lemuel C. Mejares said that question like How can “Pulso ng bayan” be measured and what are their parameters? will be answered during the CSIS Utilization conference to be conducted by DILG-CSIS Region 9 focal person Teresita Catalbas.

Mejares said the CSIS Utilization conference will provides an avenue to generate results and gather citizen’s feedback on the reach and quality of basic public services provided by a certain local government units (LGU).

Mejares said the Local Chief Executives, Sangguniang Paqnglungsod members, Department Heads and Academe of these places are expected to attend to devise strategies, establish agreement and interventions on how the LGU can utilize the results presented to improve the delivery of local services in terms of availment, awareness, assessment and importance of the program.

Mejares added that the CSIS helps the LGUs in assessing service delivery performance where citizen’s perception, satisfaction and feedback are generated indispensably.

He said during the successful conduct of CSIS on June in Dipolog City Dr. Maria Rio A. Naguit, System Research Director of Jose Rizal Memorial State University, the partner Local Resource Institute of the Department, commented that the findings and results of the study will serve as a gauge and motivation of the LGU to improve more in their services and delivery performances to the people because ideally, it is for the people, of the people and by the people that the local government unit exists.

For DILG-9 Reg. Dir. Paisal O. Abutazil, the consistent commitment of CSIS will help LGUs assess service delivery performance.

It will also satisfy citizens and give indispensable feedback, he added.

He disclosed that in the case of Region IX, Dipolog City was chosen as pilot LGU for 2013 with Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) as the implementing partner and for 2014 are the two cities mentioned among the 52 covered cities nationwide.
