Another Indonesian kidnap victim release in Sulu

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – (September 23, 2016) - Indonesian kidnap victim Herman Bin Manggak, who was held captive in Sulu, Southern Philippines by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), was released to the MNLF and later handed over to concerned JTFS key Staff Thursday at 11 a.m., military official said.

Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) spokesperson Maj. Felimon Tan Jr. disclosed that Manggak was abducted by armed men off the waters of Sandakan, Sabah on August 03, 2016.

Maj. Tan said, the victim was brought to Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital following his release for proper medical examination and debriefing before being turned over to proper authorities at WesMinCom.

WesMinCom emphasizes the efforts of JTF Sulu troops in conducting continuous focused military operations to track down and destroy the Abu Sayyaf Group responsible for the series of kidnappings and atrocities in the area, Major Tan said.
