PRO9 celebrates the 26TH PNP Foundation Day

ZAMBOANGA CITY (February 14, 2017) - PRO9 Regional Director PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN lead the celebration of the 26th PNP Foundation Day and traditional flag raising ceremony yesterday held at the PRO9 Quadrangle, Camp Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City.

PRO9 Information Officer PSUPT. ROGELIO C. ALABATA disclosed that the Philippine National Police (PNP) was formed on January 29, 1991 out from the merger of the Philippine Constabulary and the Integrated National Police pursuant to Republic Act 6975, or the Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990.

Alabata said, it is part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government having the mission to enforce the law, prevents and control crimes, maintains peace and order, and ensures public safety and internal security with the active support of the community. And by way of achieving the PNP’s vision and mission, the PNP is guided by its philosophy of service, honor and justice through the consistent demonstration of the PNP’s core values of being Maka-diyos, Makabayan, Makatao and Makakalikasan.

The activity was graced by retired PSSUPT. JULMUNIER A. JUBAIL, President PNP Retirees Association Inc. PRO9 9 Chapter, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the celebration. In his remarkable speech, he challenged the every police officer to serve and performed their job with integrity and dedication. They should serve the organization with all their heart because the sustenance’s that their families receive is coming from the organization they are solemnly pledge to serve, he added.            .  

The highlight of the activity was the giving of “Medalya ng Kasanayan “awards to the PRO9 police units for being Top 1 performer during the Compliance Evaluation Process “Performance Governance System (PGS) held at Centro Latino, Paseo Del Mar, Zamboanga City on February 3, 2017.

The Awardee was the 2nd Maneuvering Company (RPSB9) under PCINSP JOSEPH L ORTEGA, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Public Safety Company under PSUPT MUAMMAR A MUKARAM, Mahayag MPS under PCINSP HOMER T DUMALAG, Liloy MPS under PCINSP JOSE F RIVERO III AND Zamboanga City Police Station 11 under PCINSP ALBERT STA. TERESA.






Another highlight of the activity was the Wreath-Laying of PNP Fallen Heroes, a ceremony that paid tribute to the brave Police Officers who lay down their lives in the call of duty. The laudable deed of the PNP Fallen heroes will always be commemorated not because that it has been a tradition but because of the inspiration they gave to every police officer that continuously triggers the bravery and courage to grow in every police officer’s heart to serve with utmost sincerity and obedience for the ultimate sacrifices in the call of duty and to give every individual the best they deserve.
