RD PRO9 awards GANDAPULIS 2017 candidates

ZAMBOANGA CITY (April 4, 2017) – PCSupt. Billy B. Beltran, PRO9 Regional Director led the awarding of PRO9 GANDAPULIS 2017 candidates and giving of cash donation for Killed in Police Operation (KIPO)/ Killed in Action (KIA) beneficiaries during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at PRO9 Quadrangle, Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City yesterday, official said.

PRO9 Information Officer PSupt. Rogelio C. Alabata disclosed that the GANDAPULIS 2017 candidates who represents PRO9 during the completion held in Camp Crame, Quezon City are PO1 Leizel L Abejero, PNP member assigned at Regional Public Safety Battalion 9, who bagged the 1st runner-up of GANDAPULIS 2017 and Placenta Award for Best Skin; PO2 Alma Ruby I Santos, PNP member assigned at Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, who adjudged as Best in Gown during the coronation night; PO1 Ma. Riffy R Cerezo, PNP member assigned at Zamboanga Del Norte Police Provincial Office. While PO1 Grechelle G Climaco and PO1 Sarah Jean G Fajardo, assigned at RPSB9 and ZCPO, respectively, failed to advance after they were not chosen by the judges during the elimination round held at PRO9 Conference Hall.

PSupt. Alabata said P01 Arla Ray Paciencia of Police Regional Office 8, hailed as the Ganda Pulis 2017 Grand Winner during the Coronation Night on March 28, 2017 at the Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City. PRO 9 candidate, PO1 Leizel L. Abejero bagged the 1st runner-up, followed by PRO 3 candidate PO1 Bernie Jane L Dela Cruz as the 2nd runner-up and PRO 11 candidate PO1 Nova Em N Lago as the 3rd runner-up.

The PNP Ganda Pulis 2017 is a project of the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) headed by PCSupt. Gilbert Cruz in support of the National Women's Month Celebration. It is a week-long search for the country's most confidently beautiful policewoman with the participants coming from the different Police Regional Offices, NSU's and the 5 districts of the National Capital Region Police Office.



PCSupt. Beltran, in his message during the ceremony, congratulated the candidates of GANDAPULIS 2017 especially PO1 Leizel L. Abejero who bagged the 1st Runner up during the prestigious competition, for giving pride and honor to the PRO9. He likewise thanks the spouses/ survivors for their untiring support to their late husband.  

The four PNCOs, PO3 Sedrome, PO2 Jupia, PO2 Lakim and PO1 Castro, were killed during the legitimate police operation in the implementation of Project Double Barrel, Alpha in 2016.
