15 unidentified armed men set fire to heavy equipment in Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (July 11, 2017) - Three heavy equipment units owned by Ramona Construction were allegedly burned by fifteen (15) unidentified armed men believed to be members of New People’s Army at Purok-1, Barangay Licabang, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:30 PM Sunday (July 9), official said.

ZCPO – PRO9 information officer PCINSP HELEN L GALVEZ disclosed that
in a report reaching to this office, more or less fifteen (15) armed malefactors believed to be members of NPA surrounded the bunkhouse of Ramona Construction Located Purok-1, Barangay Licabang, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur and poured gasoline and set fire on several parked trucks and heavy equipment near the said bunkhouse.

PCINSP GALVEZ said that the burned heavy equipment units are as follows: one unit color white Mitsubishi Canter with plate number YEC 352, one unit Mitsubishi mini Dump Truck color blue with plate number YGV 890 which was plunge on the road side while the engine was set on fire, and one unit Isuzu dump truck with plate number RHD 217 was burned by pouring gasoline on the engine but luckily the fire went out. The estimated cost of damage is more or less Three Million Pesos.

PNP elements of Dumingag MPS led by PCINSP EDGAR R. HINOCTAN, Chief of Police, together with the 53rd Infantry Battalion, Phil. Army, RPSB9 3rd Maneuvering Platoon 2nd MC are now conducting manhunt operation against the armed suspects who fled immediately after the incident.
                                                         
As this developed, PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN, Regional Director, PRO9, condemns the recent burning of three (3) heavy equipment units in Barangay Licabang, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur, perpetrated by the members of the NPA who shows their disregard on the development of the said municipality.




The Regional Director encourages the public to report any sightings of the NPA and their atrocities immediately to the authorities or to the nearest police station and to the PNP hotline numbers and KKK Mobile Apps.
