MSME Summit 2017: The 7Ms Toward a More Productive ZamPen MSMEs

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (August 28, 2017) - The Department of Trade and lndustry Region IX is bringing entrepreneurship to a whole new level. In partnership with the Regional and Provincial MSMED Councils, the local chambers and the City Government of Pagadian, the DTI will conduct the 2017 Zamboanga Peninsula MSME Conference on August 30, 2017 at the City Commercial Complex in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Provincial Director Maria Socorro M. Atay of the DTI-ZDS Provincial Office said that, bearing the theme, "The 7Ms Toward a More Competitive ZamPen MSMEs”, the conference will be a gathering of about 400 MSMEs, private sector organizations, as well as representatives from the academe, government agencies and the local media. Further, business experts, mentors, and enablers will be invited as resource persons during the conference to share their knowledge and insights on the opportunities that the ASEAN integration present especially in developing MSMEs, as a platform for promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.

The conference will contain discussion topics on the 7Ms to Uplift the MSMEs, namely: 1) Mindset Change; 2) Mastery; 3) Mentoring; 4) Money; 5) Machine; 6) Market Access; and, 7) Models of Business.

PD Atay said that this event is meant to uplift the spirits of the local entrepreneurs, to be more productive and more adaptive towards change, as we move forward to a more progressive Philippines prioritizing inclusive growth and regional competitiveness. Further, she also emphasized the importance of this event to aspiring entrepreneurs, for them to develop the set of skills and attitude to be successful in the field of business. Lastly, she said that the DTI will continue to support and empower entrepreneurs and invites them to this upcoming activity.

The event is a one day activity only and will start at 9:00 am and will end at 5:00 pm. Don’t miss it and see you there, she added.
