NFWM participates in “Aksyon Pasa sa Ambisyon” Philippine Development Expo 2017

ZAMBOANGA CITY (August 2, 2017) – Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) thru Civil Military Operations Unit-Western Mindanao (CMOU-WM) participated in the Zambonga Peninsula Regional Launching/Roadshow called “Aksyon Para sa Ambisyon” and “Philippine Development Expo,” last July 27, 2017. The event with the theme: “Tayo Nang Abutin ang Ambisyon Natin,” of National Economic and Development Authority was held at Liga Ng Mga Barangay Convention Center, FS Pajares Avenue, Pagadian City and was attended by the regional line agencies, state universities, local government units, and private sectors in the Zamboanga Peninsula, official said.

Information officer RADM Rene V. Medina AFP, Commander, Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) disclosed that the purpose of the activity is to create and broaden the public awareness about the Philippine Development Expo Roadshow 2017 of NEDA. The PDP 2017- 2022 is geared towards the national long term vision – AmBisyon Natin 2040 which is focused on enhancing social relations, reduction inequality, and the increase of potential growth in the country. It is also directed from the realization of Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty, protect the planet and to ensure that people enjoy peace and prosperity.

NFWM showcased the Philippine Navy’s contribution towards regional/ national development through the information desk that highlighted its accomplishments and contributions in the Western Mindanao region. NFWM likewise offered recruitment opportunities to prospective future Naval Officers and Sailors. The NFWM Band also provided entertainment during the activity and information/advocacy booths were set-up in promotion of the Navy’s sustenance and support to troops deployed in Marawi City, said RADM Medina.





NFWM will continue to be a partner unit of the government in serving the citizens of Western Mindanao in ensuring security, public order and safety by promoting peace and development, he added.
