NFWM participates in All-In-One Mission at Panamao, Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY (August 5, 2017) - Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) through Camp Navarro General Hospital (CNGH) and Camp Navarro Dental Dispensary (CNDD) participated in the All-In-One Medical and Dental Mission organized by Marine Battalion Landing Team 3 (MBLT3) and Philippine Marine Ready Force (PMRF) Sulu in partnership with Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu and other stakeholders on July 29, 2017 at Brgy Seit Poblacion, Panamao, Sulu, military official said.

Information officer Rear Admiral Rene V. Medina AFP, Commander, Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), disclosed that The All-In-One Mission was composed of the following activities: minor surgery, circumcision for out of school youth, removal of cystolic (bukol-bukol), eye check-up with free reading glasses, tooth extraction, general consultation (blood sugar examination), legal clinic, check-up of Pulmonary Tuberculosis Imbalance (PTB) cases, supplemental feeding and free haircut. The organizers also distributed mosquito nets, conducted Film Viewing and officiated a Football Festival entitled “Football for Peace” which is an advocacy of MBLT1 to instill in the hearts and minds of the youth that they can live, grow in peace and have fun despite the presence of violence in the region.

RADM Medina said that the mission in Panamao, Sulu benefitted almost 1,888 families. Besides the services offered, mosquito nets were distributed to 1000 recipients as well as 920 packs of goodies, 620 food packs, 400 pairs of slippers and 322 footballs to the youth in the area.



He further said that the visit of the AFP, specifically the Philippine Navy in Panamao, Sulu assured the residents that the Navy would continue to render assistance despite the presence of lawless elements and threats in Western Mindanao. These advocacies are simultaneous with the fight of the Navy to keep our waters safe and to uphold the integrity of our territory.
