Fish port laborer shot to death in Pagadian City public market

PAGADIAN CITY – The Pagadian City Police Operatives are now conducted a hot pursuit operation against the suspect and a thorough investigation to establish the motive behind the shooting incident on January 18 at 7:00 pm near Gate 11 Agora Market.

Pagadian City Police Chief Supt. Benito Recopuerto said that in their initial investigation, the victim identified as Jovanie Mamawe Ajo, Filipino, 29 years old, male, married, fish port laborer and also a cockfighting gaffer, with home address at Purok Hiniusa, Barangay Lumbia this city.

He added that while victim was on his way home on board his black honda wave single motorcycle from attending a house blessing owned by certain Lastimoso at Barangay Dumagoc, of this city.

Upon traversing Dablo Street, near Gate 11 of Agora Market, two unidentified male suspects riding in tandem with undetermined Kawasaki bajaj rouser single motorcycle waylaid him and subsequently the back rider (suspect) shot the victim twice. Victim reportedly tried to run away from his assailants but was fell and died in the sidewalk on the spot.

Suspects hurriedly fled towards west direction of Dablo Street, Pagadian City.

Pagadian City Police Station requested the assistance of the PNP SOCO team of Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory who later process the crime scene.

The PNP SOCO team recovered two fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 and one deformed slug believed to be of same caliber at the crime scene.

Cadaver of the victim now lies at Gamalinda Funeral Homes, National Highway, Barangay Tuburan, this city.
