General Santos City controls Batang Pinoy Mindanao Medal Standing

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (March 11, 2018 As of 5PM) – Team from Gensan (General Santos City) on the last days of Batang Pinoy here in the City of Good Life still controls the Medal Standing with 45 Gold 49 Silver and 50 Bronze and rank number 1 as of 5PM Today March 11, a day left for the Batang Pinoy Mindanao Qualifying Leg 2018 that will end tomorrow March 12, 2018

Davao City who is number two in the Medal Ranking maintain its position by garnering 45 Gold 22 Silver and 17 Bronze. Phil. Sport Commission said that if two teams has the same number of Gold, it should be determine with its silver medal to rank higher against the other team.

On the Medal Count Davao del Norte who gathered 105 medal is in third place of the medal count however Davao del Norte plays third overall with 39 Gold 27 Silver and 39 Bronze and followed by Zamboanga City in the 4th place with 38 Gold 11 Silver and 25 Bronze. Meanwhile Tagum City who rank number 6 yesterday surpass Koronadal City with additional two Gold medal to land in the 5th place with a total of 28 Gold 29 Silver and 23 Bronze, Koronadal settl ed in the 6th Place with 26 Gold 29 Silver and 39 Bronze.

In another development, Oroquieta City who showed its might in Sepak Takraw Girls Rego captures another Gold to make 2 Gold 2 Silver and 5 Bronze. City Mayor Jason Paredes Almonte who was informed congratulated the girls for they show that Oroquieta City has the quality to become sport leaders particularly in the sports of Sepak Takraw. It may be recalled that during the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Meet last year, Oroquieta City was declared Regional Champion in the Boys Category in Sepak Takraw and Silver for the Girls Sepak Takraw.

Meanwhile, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental who is on the track continue to win games as of Today (March 11, 2018/5PM) in the medal standing it gathered 5 Gold 8 Silver and 5 Bronze and ranks 12th place overall, Calamba is also gaining momentum with 3 Gold 1 Silver and 3 Bronze, Aloran still has 1 Silver as of Presstime.

SP Chairman on the Committee on Youth and Sports Development, 
Games and Amusement, 1st District Board member Richard “Voting” Centino said if only commitment and be a priority of each and every LGU of Misamis Occidental to strengthen sports development and help and support young sport talents, this will certainly gain more medals and awards from any sport competition soon.
