P330-M Bayfront Park and Arena project in Oroquieta City

OROQUIETA CITY (March 22, 2018) – The City local government officials of Orquieta City headed by Mayor Jason Paredes Almonte together with Congressman Jorge Taghap Almonte of the 1st District of Misamis Occidental leads in the groundbreaking ceremony of the P330-Million Bayfront Park and a modern covered Sports Arena with some additional amenities like a people’s park projects Thursday morning.

Also attended the activities were Vice Governor Aurora Virginia “Jejie” Magusara Almonte, City Vice Mayor Lemuel Merrick M. Acosta with the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod together with the winning bidder President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Thaddeus Montano, Managing Officer Francisco Montano, Project Engineer Jeoffrey Omamalin of the Montano Construction and Development Corporation (MCDC) of Dipolog City, City Hall Employees, Department Heads, Local Media.

The construction of Bayfront Park and Arena is the dream project of the Almonte-Acosta Administration comprises a 3,000 Sq Meters area of modern infrastructure with a solar powered system for its power needs, the first in Misamis Occidental, according to Mr. Francisco Montano, Authorized Managing Officer of Montano Construction and Development Corporation and Project Engineer Jeoffrey Omamalin.

City Mayor Jason Almonte said the Bayfront Park and Arena will have its commercial mall, food and refreshment stalls, offices for rents, and covered Court with a seating capacity of more or less 4,000 SRO. A wellness and health center, a tourist attraction people’s park with a big parking area, and its first occupant if finished is the Land Bank of the Philippines Oroquieta City Branch of which is the source of the loan and at the same time a client at the same time, “We pay our loan while they also pay us their rental”, it is their commitment also to help Oroquieta City as their client, Mayor Almonte said in a Press Conference.

Mayor Almonte added that after all the preparation, Financial Loan acquisition from with an approval from Land Bank with the approval from the Central Bank Monetary Board, and the capacity to acquire Loan from the Department of Budget and management as Oroquieta City have a P600 Million borrowing capacity without sacrificing its social services and other socio-economic program implemented for Oroquietanons and beyond. The project is also projected to accommodate local employment as agreed upon that 50 to 60% of the workers must be hired from the locals skilled workers.

We forego said legacy to consistently and continuously compliment what Oroquietanons has now developed and also to support the province of Misamis Occidental in its dream as a sports haven of Northern Mindanao, Mayor Almonte.

City Mayor Almonte in his closing statement said that it his dream to make Oroquieta a new economic destination thru its infrastructure program to be built and let people come to experience what it is to be experienced in the city of good life, socially, economically, and a well develop urban area of Northern Mindanao.
