PRO 9 Regional Oversight Committee on Double Barrel holds Seminar Barangay Drug Clearing Operation in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY (March 8, 2018) - The Police Regional Office 9 through the Regional Oversight Committee on Project Double Barrel spearheaded the conduct of Barangay Drug Clearing Operations Seminar and Cascading of Supplemental Guidelines on Tokhang activities to the eleven (11) Station Commanders of ZCPO and uniformed personnel of Isabela City Police Station and its CADAC and BADAC in the LM Hotel, Natividad Street, Tetuan, Zamboanga City on Tuesday (March 6).  

ZCPO-PRO9 PCI Helen L Galvez said that opt to prove that there is really life after tokhang, the seminar which was attended by the concerned chiefs of police and respective Advisory Drug Abuse Councils focused on the proposed zero barangay drug cleared in the region and the comprehensive intervention program to be delivered to the drug surrenderers in their repective area of responsibility.  

PCI Galvez said some of the notable resource speakers during the said seminar are the representative from the DILG, PDEA, DOH and the senior police officers of Police Regional Office 9. The PRO-9 project tokhang in the region has accumulated a total of 58, 442 drug surrenderers in the entire region based on the recorded data of the PRO9 Regional Oversight Committee on Doule Barrel.            

PCI Galvez further said that based on the updates on Barangay Drug   Clearing   Operations   of PRO9, out   of   1904   Barangays, 382 Barangays has been declared   by   the   Barangay Advisory Drug Abuse Councils (BADAC) as cleared Barangay. Meanwhile, out of 58,442 total number of drug surrenderers, 4,898 drug surrenderers underwent/undergone drug rehabilitation program.
