Zamboanga City Police Office Rules the 1st PRO-9 Taekwondo Meet

PAGADIAN CITY (April 10, 2018) - The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Team Taekwondo grabs Five medals as it bagged the overall championship title in the just-concluded 1st PRO9 Taekwondo Meet held at PRO9 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on April 6, 2018, Police Official said.

PRO9 PIO Chief Police Chief Inspector Helen L. Galvez disclosed that the ZCPO contingents was declared as the over-all team champion. They collected five medals - two gold’s, one silvers and two bronze medals throughout the one- day competition, which was participated by the different Provincial Offices, City Polices and the Regional Headquarters.

The Zamboanga Del Norte PPO bagged the 1st Place with four medals - two golds, one silver and one bronze medal while the Zamboanga Del Sur PPO placed 2nd after hauling three medals - one gold, one silver and one bronze, respectively, P/CInsp. Galvez said. 

P/CInsp. Galvez added that other big winners during the one-day prestigious taekwondo competition, for Flyweight category, gold medalist is PO3 Marc Aron E. Ejera of Zamboanga City Police Office, silver medalist is PO1 Jovin Layar of PRO9 Regional Headquarter.

Bantam Weight category gold medalist is PO1 Mahmud Asakil of ZCPO, silver medalist is PO1 Efren Benoy of Zamboanga Del Norte PPO.

Feather Weight category gold medalist is PO1 Rhomer Sumalpong of Zamboanga Del Norte PPO, silver medalist is PO1 Renji Narciso of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO.

Light Weight category gold medalist is PO1 Calixto T. Malalay of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO, silver medalist is PO1 Dios Rean Lozano of Zamboanga Sibugay PPO.

Welter Weight category gold medalist is PO1 Reyl V. Hamoy of Zamboanga Del Norte PPO, silver medalist is PO2 Richard Bualat of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO.
