PAGADIAN
CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (May 12, 2018) - The Combined operatives of 904th
Mobile Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, Regional Intelligence Unit
9, and Regional Intelligence Division conducted Law Enforcement Operation in
line with Target Intel Package "Hyper" along R.T. Lim Boulevard in
Zamboanga City on Friday at about 6:00am, Police Official said.
Police
Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) Chief PIO Chief Inspector Helen L. Galvez disclosed
that the operation was resulted in
the arrest of Abu-Sayyaf Group (ASG) member Aizar Latip alias Utchung a.k.a.
Christpher Palomar/Abu Husni for the crime of Kidnapping and Serious Illegal
Detention in relation with Golden Harvest Plantation kidnapping Incident on
June 11, 2001.
PCInsp. Galvez
said the suspect has a Warrant of Arrest issuef by Presiding Judge Leo Jay T.
Principe of RTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Isabela City, dated January 28,
2008 under CC# 3551, 3552, 3566, 3567, 3569 and 3570 with No bail bond
recommended.
Aizar Latip was
a member of ASG Basilan Based under Sub-Leader “Commander Abogao”. The said
arrested person was tasked to monitor all possible targets for kidnapping in
Zamboanga City, PCInsp. Galvez added.
He
was also involved in the different Kidnapping incidents such of Fr. Giancarlo
Bossi at Brgy Bulawan, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay Province on June 10, 2007 and
Larry Tam Delos Santos a.k.a. Larry Font, owner of Font restaurant and Farmland
in Lanote Bliss, Isabela City province on December 16, 2010, Chief PIO said.
He
was also responsible of the ambushed of Philippine Marines troops in Brgy. Guinanta,
Albarka, Basilan Province that left fourteen (14) Marines Troopers
Killed-In-Action (KIA) which ten (10) of them were beheaded and nine (9) others
are Wounded-In-Action (WIA) on July 10, 2007, She said.
The arrested
ASG member is now temporarily under the custody of 904th Mobile
Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 for proper disposition.
