Lumbers Held in Naga, ZamboSibugay during Anti-Illegal Logging Operation

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (June 12, 2018) – At least a total of One thousand one hundred six board feet of illegal lumbers ion different dimension with estimated value of thirty three thousand one hundred eighty pesos (Php 33,180.00) were during the conduct of Joint anti-illegal logging operation Monday at about 12:30pm in Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay Province

Regional Police Office-9 PIO Chief CInsp Helen Galvez disclosed that the Law Enforcement Team composed of the elements of Naga Municipal Police Station (MPS) together with Roger P. Paglinawan of Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)–Kabasalan conducted Joint anti-illegal logging operation at Purok 5, Barangay Aguinaldo of the said municipality.

The joint anti-illegal logging operation successfully intercepted One unit Bongo Truck with plate number AFA 3963 driven by Ruel Sepe Bonsobre, 32 years old, resident of Barangay Baga together with his truck man identified as Richmond Balberde Nieva, 27 years old, a resident of Barangay Aguinaldo, both of the same municipality, CInsp. Galvez said.

She said the truck was loaded with illegally cut lumbers of different dimension as follows:  
-Three hundred sixty (360) board feet of two by five by eight (2x5x8), -Fifty-three (53) board feet of two by four by ten (2x4x10),
-Thirty-three (33) board feet of two by five by ten (2x5x10),
-Three-hundred-forty-one (341) board feet of two by four by eight (2x4x8),
-Two-hundred-eighty (280) board feet of two by six by eight (2x6x8),
-Eleven (11) board feet of two by eight by eight (2x8x8),and
-Twenty-eight (28) board feet of two by six by seven (2x6x7) of mahogany lumber with a total of One thousand one hundred six (1,106) board feet with estimated value of Thirty-three thousand one hundred eighty (Php 33,180.00) pesos.

The confiscated lumbers and vehicle were brought to CENRO for proper disposition. Further, arrested persons were temporary under the custody of Naga MPS for proper disposition, CInsp. Galvez added.
