2 persons nabbed for Swindling/Estafa using fictitious name/Canceling True name



PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (July 5, 2018) – The operatives of Pagadian City Police Station arrested two suspects for Swindling/Estafa using fictitious name/Cancelling true Name transpired at Pilgrim’s Hotel, Tuburan District, Pagadian City on July 4, 2018 at about 11:00am.

Pagadian City Police Chief Supt. Alvin P. Saguban identified the arrested suspects as Alniel Orion Terez, 21 yo, male, with live-in partner Mariza Mislos Mintang, both resident of Poblacion Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The victim identified as Bryan Calderon Canalita, 39 years old, married, businessman, Filipino, member of Facebook public group account and a resident of Sitio Aleth, Barangay Cabito-onan, Toledo City, Cebu.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the incident ensued when suspect posted in Facebook using a fictitious name identified as Alfie Cosares who allegedly selling a unit of Toyota Avanza color black in the amount of Php150, 000.00.

The victim out of his desire to buy the advertised unit, he was made to pay an advance payment of Php15, 000.00 on July 2, 2018 through MLhuiller Kwarta Padala and another Php30, 000.00 on July 3, 2018 through MLhuiller Kwarta Padala at a branch in Gaisano Capital, Pagadian City. When the victim and the suspects agreed for the consummation of their transaction at Cagayan de Oro City, the suspects then rejected all forms of contact and/or communication.

That prompted the victim to realize that he was a victim of a scam and then verified, the receiver of the money-sending (MLhuiller) identified as a certain Markly C Villarico, 25 yo, male, single, dicer of Monde Nissin Corp., and a resident of Camanga, Dumalinao, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Through the victim’s facebook account, the victim called the cooperation of Markly in order to see the suspect in person who used such a fictitious name with the aid of the Duty Investigator and detective personnel of Pagadian City Police Station, the suspects were arrested and now facing appropriate charges was filed in court.

Suspects are now temporary detained at Pagadian CPS Detention Cell for proper disposition. (By JONG D. CADION)
