Indonesian and Malaysian Navy Ships arrive in Zamboanga City



PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 28, 2018) – The Joint Task Force INDOMALPHI and Naval Forces Western Mindanao under Western Mindanao Command welcomed two navy ships from Tentara Nasional Indonesia-AngkatanLaut (TNI-AL) and Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) in a ceremony at Zamboanga City Pier Tuesday on November 27, 2018, Phil. Naval Forces Western Mindanao Public Affairs Office Chief ENS Jesca May P Viduya, PN said that the contingents were welcomed by the City Mayor of ZamboangaNaval Forces, Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar who is represented by Atty Eric Elias, Officer-In-Charge City Mayor with the Officers and men of Western Mindanao Command, Naval Forces Western Mindanao and Officials from the Local Government agencies. The event was attended by the Indonesian Head of Mission, LCDR Ahmad Yunus TNI-AL and Malaysian Head of Mission CDR AzemanYusoff RMN, she said.

Viduya added that the arrival of the two foreign vessels, KRI SURA (802) of TNI-AL and KD PARI (3510) of RMN marked the start of the INDOMALPHI 4th Trilateral Port Visit and Maritime Training Activities for the navies of Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines under the Trilateral Cooperative Arrangement (TCA).

Viduya explained that series of activities such as Day Tours, Sports activities, Capability Demonstration and maritime cooperative training activities will be conducted and participated by the representatives from each country from 27 to 30, 2018 at Western Mindanao Command AOR particularly in Zamboanga City.

This significant event aims to strengthen the relationship, enhance mutual cooperation and interoperability of the three countries through the development of combined rules of engagement and develop better understanding and cooperation to address common issues on common maritime waters, she concluded.
