204 Police Personnel of PRO9 Deployed in ARMM to Secure BOL plebiscite

PAGADIAN CITY (Jan 13, 2019) - The Police Regional Office 9 sent 204 police personnel to three provinces in ARMM task to help and secure the upcoming Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite in Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi on January 21, 2019, PHP Regional Official disclosed.

PROPIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez said that PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Regional Director and PDIR Daniel G MacatlangJr, DIPO-Western Mindanao led the send-off ceremony held at PRO 9 Headquarters, Camp Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on January 12, 2019  at 11;30 in the morning.

The augmentation force, which is composed of 204 PNP personnel coming from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, will be turned over to the PRO-ARMM where they will be sent to Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi provinces.

PCSUPT Licup, said that the 204 augmentation troops were sent and deployed to these areas to secure the electorate in the upcoming BOL plebiscite.

"You are assigned there to be given a chance and opportunity to be part of the process.  Remember you are deployed there not to make war but to make peace by securing the polling center," the Regional Director added. (By JONG CADION with PRO9 PIO PR and photos)
