Police Regional Office 9 Has New Regional Director

CAMP COL. ABENDAN, ZAMBOANGA CITY – A product of Philippine National Police Academy was installed as the new regional director of Police Regional Office 9 during the turnover of command ceremony held on May 29, 2019 at PRO9 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col Romeo Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City presided by Police Major General Daniel G Macatlang Jr., Director of DIPO-Western Mindanao.

PRO9 PIO Chief PMaj. Helen L. Galvez said that the newly installed PRO9 Regional Director is Police Brigadier General Froilan Flores Quidilla, belongs to the PNPA Tagapagtangol Class of 1987 and the former Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO4-b MIMAROPA formally assumed office as the new acting Regional Director to lead the 6,000-strong men and women of Police Regional Office 9.

Police Brigadier General Froilan Flores Quidilla replaced Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, who after eight months as Regional Director of PRO9, has relinquished his post to the incoming Regional Director of Police Regional Office 9. PBGEN Licup, a member of PMA Hinirang Class of 1987 was assign to PNP National Headquarters as Acting Deputy Director of Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

The incoming Regional Director expressed his propounded gratitude and great appreciation to outgoing regional director for laying the ground works in advancing the mission and vision of the PNP in making PRO9 a better place to live, work and do business.

“As I accept the flag and colors of PRO9, the symbol of authority – I will be one with all of you in the continuance of the good service my predecessor PBGEN Licup has laid and we will continue the good legacy for the benefit of the people of Region 9.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, in his turn-over speech, thanks the men and women of Police Regional Office (PRO) 9 for the support they have extended during his stint as regional director. The outgoing regional director cited some of the notable accomplishments in his eight months stint at PRO9.

“Our accomplishments would not have been possible if not for everyone doing their part and performing to the best of their abilities and responsibilities. The most notable and most recent of these achievements is that we were successful in carrying out our security operations during the recently concluded national and local elections. i am also proud to say that during my stint, we have no cases of kidnapping in the region and we held our own in the campaign against illegal drugs”. PBGEN Licup said.

“As i am about to pass the baton to another very able leader, PBGEN Froilan Quidilla. i am greatly confident that he will be able to lead this region with the same vigor and competence as he did in his previous designations, the outgoing regional director added.

The new assignments of two senior officers have been approved by PNP Chief, Police General Oscar D Albayalde upon the recommendations of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board. (With PR and photos from PRO9 PIO)
