PRO9 Deployed 6, 517 Cops for Election Duty

PAGADIAN CITY (May 7, 2019) - The Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) has deployed a total of 6, 517 police officers for the May 13 elections during the simultaneous send-off ceremony held Monday May 6, 2019 at the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO9) headquarters and at the different Police Provincial/City Police Office across the region, participated in by contingents from the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Phil Coast Guard.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the 6, 517 police officers will be placed at the different polling precincts and other areas in Zamboanga Peninsula region to ensure the peaceful and orderly mid-term elections on May 13, 2019.

Of the 6, 517 cops, 1, 904 of them deployed in Zamboanga del Norte and 1, 484 going to Zamboanga del Sur. On the hand, 1, 377 are headed Zamboanga Sibugay and 1, 041 to Zamboanga City while 170 going to Isabela City.

During the send- off ceremony at the Police Regional Office 9 Headquarters, Police Lt. General Camilo P Cascolan, PNP Chief Directorial Staff, Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director; Col. Leonel Nicolas, Commander of Task Force Zamboanga; Commodore Joseph Coyme of Phil Coast Guard and Atty. Remlane M. Tambuang, Regional Election Director led the send-off ceremony of 1, 374 troops from the Police Regional Office 9,  82 troops from AFP and 30 from Coast Guard held at PRO9 Parade Ground, Camp Col Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on May 6, 2019.

The 1, 374 augmented cops who will be assigned to the voting centers in the region were as follows – 535 to Zamboanga Del Norte, 153 to Zamboanga Sibugay, 348 to Zamboanga del Sur, 337 to Zamboanga City and 1 to Isabela City.

Police Brigadier Gen Licup, in his message, reminded the troops the sworn duties to keep the upcoming electoral process to proceed with no untoward incidents happen and to keep safe always.


The COMELEC Regional Election Director commended the PNP and AFP for the services, dedication and loyalty to the country and the people. He also lauded the effort of both organization in safeguarding the peaceful, orderly and integrity of the upcoming 2019 Midterm Elections. (With press release and photos from PRO9 PIO)
