Col Romeo Abendan, Zamboanga City – a
retired Police Major who is running for the Vice-Mayor candidate in Salug,
Zamboanga del Norte and his companion were arrested by police operatives of
Salug Municipal Police Station at Barangay Pucay, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte at
about 2:45 AM of May 13, 2019.
Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D
Licup, PRO9 Director identified the arrested suspects as retired Police Major
Sergio R Bihag, 57 years old, running candidate for Vice Mayor of Municipality
of Salug, Zamboanga del Norte and Jetro D Ybańes, 38 years old and a resident
of Barangay Pobalcion, Tungawan Zamboanga Sibugay Province.
Recovered from their possession and
control were the following, to wit: One (1) unit of Cal .38 revolver loaded
with five (5) pieces Cal .38 Ammunitions; One (1) unit Thompson Submachine Gun,
inserted with one Thompson Magazine loaded with 25 pieces of Cal .45
Ammunitions and other one extra Magazine with 26 pieces Cal .45 ammunitions, Money
Amounting to Three (3) Thousand and 3,043.00 Pesos; and Black Hilux bearing
plate number VZ 5600.
Suspects and the recovered items were
brought to Salug Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
