5 PNP Personnel nabbed for alleged Robbery Extortion in Zambonga City

PAGADIAN CITY. Zamboanga del Sur (March 24, 2021) – The Joint operatives of Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group, Zamboanga City Police Office and 55th Special Action Company successfully arrested one PNP officer during the conducted entrapment operation in Zamboanga City Police Station 9 at 6:45PM on Monday, March 22, 2021

Police Regional Office 9 Public Information Chief PCapt. Edwin A Duco identified the arrested police officer as PMAJ Orlyn Leyte, Officer In Charge of Zamboanga City Police Station 9.

He was arrested after allegedly receiving the amount of ₱90,000.00 broken down into ₱2,000.00 (with ultra violet powder) and Eighty eight (88) pieces photocopied 1,000.00 pesos bill (Boodle Money) as payment for the settlement against the victim who was robbed and divested of her jewelleries and a week of her store earnings in the guise of a drug bust operation, Duco disclosed.

A case of Robbery Extortion and Violation of R.A. 3019 also known as Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and RA 6713 Code of Conduct and Ethical Standard for Public Official and Employees is now being prepared against the suspects by the joint IMEG, MFU investigators.

Duco also said that PMaj. Leyte during his interview denied his allegedly involvement of the accusation that he was first recommended the four policemen under him for their early relieved from their duty pending investigation of the case.  

PRO9 PIO Chief likewise said that the four of the PNCOs were identified as PSSg Hegenio Salvador, PSSg Asser Abdulkadim, PCpl Ismael Sasapan Hassan; and PCpl Juman Arabani, who were all earlier involved in the Robbery Extortion were already relieved from Zamboanga City Police Station 9 and presently assigned under City Personnel Holding and Accounting Section, Zamboanga City Police Office.
