WestMinCom administers first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to a military doctor

 PAGADIAN CITY (March 11, 2021) - The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Mindanao Command officially rolled-out the COVID-19 vaccination on Tuesday afternoon, March 9, 2021.

The immunization whereby the first dose of vaccine was administered to Camp Navarro General Hospital Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Maria Victoria Mandin was held at the WMC gymnasium, the fixed vaccination site of the Command.

In her statement, Lt. Col. Mandin said, “I now feel safer and more protected knowing that I already have the defense in my system that will fight off the virus”.

The activity was done in support of the implementation of the AFP Immunization Plan set forth by the higher headquarters.

Health workers from the Camp Navarro General Hospital were among the first few who were vaccinated during the activity.

“This signifies the massive inoculation of the COVID-19 vaccine in this unit. Our priority is to administer the vaccine to all health workers of the Command,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.

The Health Service Center-Western Mindanao through the Camp Navarro General Hospital is the Unit Primary Responsible (UPR) during the roll-out. (By JONG CADION with reports and photos from WestMinCom-PIO)
