JTF Tawi-Tawi, PLGU spearhead a 3-day youth leadership summit

PAGADIAN CITY (April 1, 2021) - The Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi led by Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas in partnership with the Provincial Government of Tawi-Tawi under Governor Yshmael Sali spearheaded a 3-day youth leadership summit from April 1 to 3, 2021.

A total of 150 youth ages 14 to 20 from the different island municipalities of Tawi-Tawi joined in the three-day activity launched early in the morning today at the Headquarters of the 2nd Marine Brigade in Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

“We initiated this activity to train and educate young leaders for their role in nation-building. We want to provide them with a good perspective of the current gaps we are in and their roles in filling those gaps,” said Brig. Gen. Rojas.

“I would like to personally thank the Provincial Local Government Units, Norwegian Embassy, International Organization for Migration, and Office of MP Al-Syed Sali for supporting us in this endeavor,” Brig. Gen. Rojas added.

The 3-day summit dubbed as Engage/Recreate/ Influence will be filled with lectures and team-building activities.

“This is a very good venue to mold the morals and harness the potentials of our future leaders,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.

“The youths are among the most vulnerable sector of the society so we must empower them to keep them away from the deceit of the enemies of the state,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added.

Strict implementation of the minimum health standards is observed during the conduct of the activity. (By JONG CADION with reports and photos fro WestMinCom-PIO)
