“This is the fourth batch of vaccines that we have safely transported to Sulu and Tawi-Tawi utilizing our air asset while those intended for Basilan will be transported later this afternoon using our naval asset,” said Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.
Onboard the C-295 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. delivered two cases of Sinovac in Tawi-Tawi. The two cases contain a total of 2,600 vials of vaccines.
The commander also spearheaded the delivery of three cases of Sinovac in Sulu. The three cases contain a total of 4,200 vials of vaccine.
The vaccines were turned over to the Provincial Health Officials of the two provinces.
“We continue to support the COVID-19 response effort of the government by transporting the vaccines to the island provinces and the far-flung areas here in Mindanao,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr added.
“The fight against the COVID-19 calls for unity and cooperation. Let us always adhere to the safety protocols and continue to work together to defeat this invisible foe,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added.
Meanwhile, three cases of Sinovac containing a total of 3,520 vials will be ferried to Basilan onboard a Navy vessel.
“This is our way of expressing our sincere support to the BARMM government during this time of the pandemic.
We will continue to protect and
secure the Bangsamoro people not only from the terrorists and insurgents but
from the contagion as well. Transportation and other needed assistance will be
provided by the military to ensure the success of the inoculation campaign,”
