WestMinCom holds joint donning of ranks and retirement ceremony

PAGADIAN CITY (May 8, 2021) - A joint ceremony for the donning of ranks to the newly promoted officers and retirement of civilian personnel of the command was held on May 7, 2021

A total of six staff officers of the Western Mindanao Command of whom three belong to the Philippine Army, one from the Philippine Navy, and two from the Philippine Air Force were pinned with their new rank insignia in a simple ceremony held at the Bautista Lounge in Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city at 8:00 in the morning.

Maj. Joefrey Asuncion, Maj. Jessica Gomez, and Maj. Eugene Ramon were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Additionally, Lt. Commander Harold Manuel was promoted to the rank of Commander (Cdr.), while Cpt. Sheryl Mae Lerio and Cpt. Winnie Lim were promoted to the rank of Major.

WestMinCom Commander Chief Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr. administered the pinning of the rank insignia to the said military officers

In his message, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. congratulated the newly promoted officers and said, “Your promotion is a testament not only of your achievements but of your proven potentials throughout your decades-long military service.”

“As I always say, with promotion comes bigger responsibilities. It is not a reward of what was done well, but a recognition that more has to be done hence I urge you to continue to give your best in everything that you do; always know your job well and do it with passion,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added.

Meanwhile, on the same activity, the valuable service of a retiring civilian human resource was recognized.

Ms. Maria Alo is set to retire on May 8, 2021, as she reaches the mandatory retirement age of 65.

Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. awarded a Command Plaque to the honoree in grateful recognition of her significant contribution and committed service to the Western Mindanao Command from July 1, 1981, to May 8, 2021.

The commander commended Ms. Alo’s indefatigable dedication and invaluable service that contributed to the accomplishment of the command’s multifarious objectives.

“Your accomplishments as a dedicated civilian human resource will continue to inspire not only our civilian human resources but even our uniformed personnel to exert exemplary efforts in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities as public servants who owe their fidelity to their countrymen,” said Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.

In her valedictory address, Ms. Alo expressed her gratitude to the officers, enlisted personnel, and fellow civilian human resources of the command who were with her along the way.
