PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug 20, 2021) - Western Mindanao Command facilitated the distribution of food packs to the fire victims currently situated at Southcom Elementary School, Southcom Village, Calarian, this city.
Personnel from the Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations, U7; 4th Civil Relations Group; and Joint Task Force Zamboanga distributed a total of 500 food packs to the victims at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021.
Said food packs were donated by one of Western Mindanao State University’s Professors, Prof. Teng Catong. The command also distributed a total of 100 cases of bottled water.
It can be recalled that a huge conflagration transpired at Camella
Drive, Southcom Village on Wednesday afternoon. Said incident razed almost a
hundred houses to the ground and displaced more or less 116 families.
“The military is always here to help the people in all possible ways.
This our own little way to the return the assistance extended by the citizens
in all our endeavors,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of Western
Mindanao Command.“We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our stakeholders for
assisting us in the realization of this relief operation,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan,
