Tabak Joins National Youth Leadership Summit for Peace

KUTA SANG-AN, LABANGAN, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR – The 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, Philippine Army sends at least 125 youth volunteer-participants from Zamboanga Peninsula, Misamis Occidental and the two Lanao provinces to Davao City to join a 2-day National Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) for Peace and Development yesterday morning via Philippine Air force C-130 military aircraft from Pagadian City airport to Davao City airport.

The summit aims to promote a culture of peace, enhance leadership and strengthen nationalism among the youth.


YLS is a collaborative effort among the National Youth Commission (NYC), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Office of the Muslim Affairs (OMA), PNP and the AFP.

This national YLS is the first ever to be done; thus, the AFP is taking an active role bringing about a successful national level YLS.

The participants who are already local YLS graduates will be provided free meals, accommodation and billeting at the Girls Scouts of the Philippines Compound, Camp Alano in Toril, Davao City by the Eastern Mindanao Command, AFP for the duration of the summit. (With Reports from DPAO)
