More than 900 residents rescue by the Army from flash flood in ZaNorte

DIPOLOG, ZAMBNOANGA DEL NORTE  – More or less 1 thousand residents affected by the flash flood in Brgy. Guinles and Conacon both from Municipality of Polanco in Zamboanga del Norte was successfully rescue to the safe area by the army troopers of the 101st Brigade on Thursday at 6:30 in the morning, January 31, 2013.

Commander of the 101st Brigade Col Amadeo Azul Jr said the flash flood incident has reached to 3 feet deep due to the heavy rains in the said area that happened since Wednesday evening up to Thursday morning, January 30-31, 2013.

The soldiers belong to the 101st Brigade base in Brgy. Del Pilar, Pinan town, ZaNorte were deployed for the rescue and evacuation of affected residents to safer grounds. The rescue operations are still ongoing with no casualty reported as of this report.  

The Commander of the Army’s Premier Infantry (Tabak) Division Major General Ricardo Rainier Cruz III, directed military commanders in the area to closely monitor the situation and deploy with caution, more Army rescue teams for rescue operations when necessary.
