INTERFAITH FORUM IN ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR SUPPORT TOTAL ABOLITION OF PORK BARREL

PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOSUR (September 11, 2013) – A big rally will be held today September 11. 2013 at 1:00 to 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon along corner F.S. Pajares and Rizal Avenue in front of the City Commercial Center (C3).

This “March and Prayer Rally” is in solidarity to support with the EDSA TAYO action to demand for the Total Abolition of the PORK BARREL SYSTEM, said Rev. Diosdado Marquez from United Church of Christ of the Philippines (UCCP) one of the Convenor of Interfaith Forum for Solidarity and Peace in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

It was learned during the final meeting yesterday, the event will be led by the Interfaith Forum for Solidarity and Peace. It will begin with a march from the City Plaza Luz and end with a program at the heart of the city, in front of C3 Mall.

Big groups such as the Roman Catholic Parishes, Protestant and other Evangelical Churches, Schools run by the Diocese, Civil Society Organizations, Muslim and Subanen groups are participating.

Other individuals, schools, groups and organizations were also invited. Everyone is invited to join this big mobilization to show our disgust against corruption of taxpayers' money. Please come and be counted, and kindly pass this information to others, Partor Dado invitation.

Other issued concerned to be discussed during the said March and Prayer Rally is the issue of daily 4 hours brown outs in Mindanao, against the privatization of Pulangi and Agus hydro power generation complexes and the petition to repeal the EPERA LAW. 

Both the police and the military of the First Infantry Tabak Division is on red alert and had already tightened the security around the city since the incident happen in Zamboanga City, especially on today’s March and Prayer Rally activities, City Police Office Chief Supt. Glenn Dulawan said.
