Pagadian City marks World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day with mass blood donation





PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, May 9 (PNA) -– The local chapter of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has managed to collect 60 bags or 27,000 cubic centimeter (cc) of blood as they marked Thursday the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day with mass blood donation activity.

PRC-Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Chapter Administrator Hildaliza Muñoz said Friday that different organizations as well as Red Cross volunteers joined the mass blood donation activity that was held at the City Commercial Center (C3) in this city. 0948-128-3002


The participants included the Police Provincial Office, Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion, Apha Phi Omega Fraternity, Pagadian Emergency Communications and other individuals.

The activity started with a motorcade aimed to raise public awareness on the celebration of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. 

The mass blood donation activity was conducted in partnership with the Pagadian “Bayanima” Jaycees Incorporated headed by Aime Joy Deguzman.



Meanwhile, Muñoz announced that the local PRC chapter has been designated as the Regional Blood Testing Center. (PNA)
