Rotational brownout in Zamsureco-1 areas down to 1 hour daily

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, June 6 (PNA) – The daily rotational blackout in the areas being served by the Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative-1 (Zamsureco-1) is down to only one hour from the previous of two hours daily.
Zamsureco-1 serves this city and 24 of the 26 towns of this province with 69,857 member-consumers.

Zamsureco-1 Information Officer Liberal Cabatcha said this came about after the cooperative has been provided with additional three Megawatt (MW) power as the electricity generation of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) recently normalized.

Cabatcha said the power deficit of Zamsureco-1, which has a peak load of 34 MW, is down to three MW as it is receiving a total of 31 MW from three power suppliers.

Aside from PSALM, the two power suppliers of Zamsureco-1 are the Aboitiz-owned Therma Marine Incorporated and the Mapalad Power Corporation of the Alcantara group that supplies five MW each.

Cabatcha said that Zamsureco-1 member-consumers would soon enjoy zero brownout as he foresees the power generation of PSALM to normalize brought about by the constant rains. (PNA)
