PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (June 10, MPF News) – The National Kick-off launching of Climate Change Advocacy Campaign today to be jointly undertaking by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) was postponed, PIA Official said.

PIA Regional Director Noemi Edaga said Tuesday the postponement of activities was due to the non-availability of two key officials from the DENR and PIA today.

Edaga also said that earlier DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje requested the postponement of the activities because of his some important scheduled appointments and also of the non-availability of Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio B. Coloma Jr.

“As of the moment the schedule of National Kick-off launching of Climate Change Advocacy Campaign has to be arranged by the Technical Working Group (TWG) and the Regional Secretariat for final date,” Edaga said.

She added that earlier an orientation on climate change advocacy and some series of activities was conducted in this city attended by all information officers coming from the different Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs) and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officers (PENROs) as well as the Information Center Managers of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) from the region for the preparation of the launching.

One of the activities during the lunching is also the reactivation of the Regional Task Force on Climate Change for the Zamboanga Peninsula as some of its members coming from the different government agencies have already been retired from the government service, she said.
