PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur (June 10, MPF News) – The National Kick-off launching of
Climate Change Advocacy Campaign today to be jointly undertaking by the
Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the Department of Environment and
Natural Resources (DENR) was postponed, PIA Official said.
PIA Regional Director
Noemi Edaga said Tuesday the postponement of activities was due
to the non-availability of two key officials from the DENR and PIA today.
Edaga also said that
earlier DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje requested the postponement of the
activities because of his some important scheduled appointments and also of the
non-availability of Presidential Communications Operations Secretary
Herminio B. Coloma Jr.
She added that earlier
an orientation on climate change advocacy and some series of activities was
conducted in this city attended by all information officers coming from the
different Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs) and
Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officers (PENROs) as well as the
Information Center Managers of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) from the
region for the preparation of the launching.
One of the activities
during the lunching is also the reactivation of the Regional Task Force on
Climate Change for the Zamboanga Peninsula as some of its members coming from
the different government agencies have already been retired from the government
service, she said.
