PAGADIAN CITY (Feb. 19, 2020) – The Government forces nabbed three
communist terrorists in a combined operation at dawn on Monday in Naga,
Zamboanga Sibugay.

person disclosed that the troops identified the collared NPA members as Amado
Quilicot, Darwin Petralba, and Delfin Petralba, thery were arrested pursuant to
a search warrant for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 otherwise known as
illegal of firearms and ammunition.
Maj. Encinas added that the trio yielded two caliber .38 revolvers, one homemade handgun, two fragmentation grenades, and pieces of ammunition.
Troops brought the trio and the
firearms to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Provincial Office in
Ipil for proper disposition, he said.
Encinas explained that Composite
elements of the 44th Infantry Battalion and the Philippine National Police
operated in Barangay Sandayong, Naga at 5:40am on February 10.
“We can sustain the gains of peace and
progress in Western Mindanao if government forces, local chief executives, and
constituents continuously work together as a team,” said Brig. Gen. Generoso
Ponio, Joint Task Force ZamPeLan commander.
Security forces also neutralized
Saturday evening Ben-Ben Bahari, a notorious drug suspect, during a buy-bust
operation in Barangay Lapaz, Naga.
Bahari belonged to Barahama Ali’s
group, which gained notoriety for its kidnap for ransom and illegal drug
activities in the province.
Bahari fired upon government troops,
prompting security forces to return fire. He was promptly brought to Danao Sale
Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Troops recovered P34,000 worth of
shabu, one caliber .45 pistol,
magazines, ammunition, and marked bills.
Lt. Gen.
Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command, said government
troops continue their intensive campaign against terrorist and private armed
groups in the area.
“The key to achieving peace and
progress is sustenance. The military relentlessly operates in critical areas to
pound down terrorists that they may be dissuaded from fighting government
troops. In like manner, soldiers work with communities and local officials to
advance the national campaign against terrorism and insurgency in Mindanao,”
